UNIVERSITY OF OTAGO DUNEDIN SENIOR DEMONSTRATORS FACULTY OF MEDICINE APPLICATIONS are invited from final year honours students or honours graduates for a limited number of senior demonstratorships within the pre-clinlcal departments of the Faculty of Medicine. EMOLUMENT: A basic bursary component (currently $3OlO per annum) will be paid, together with remission of university tuition fees. Laboratory supervision and/or tutorial work undertaken will be paid for at the appropriate hourly rate ($7.14 or $8.93 per hour) (e.g. for six hours demonstrating per week’at $8.93 the total emolument will be $1393 plus $3OlO equal $4403). DUTIES: Approximately two halfdays laboratory work per week, and/or some tutorial work, with an upper limit of 312 hours during the academic session. Successful applicants will normally be expected to enrol for the Ph.D degree. It is possible for this degree to be completed within a period of three years. TENURE: Up to three years, renewable annually.
