Skipper Dale wins again
Skipper Dale took his record to six wins from nine starts and earnings of $18,470 when he burst through late from the trail to win the Shipleys A.W.A. Hitachi Pace.
The Nordel Skipper five-year-old won going away by half a length from the consistent Star Lady, which rallied strongly after receiving a good run handy on the outer, with a neck to the
Morrinsville-trained Over Bridge, which moved up from the rear to be in the open over the last 1200 m.
Liquid Lightning, beyond the middle on the outer to the home turn, ran on well late to finish fourth, half a head away, with the pacemaker from the 1700 m, Andronicus, and Nardinski, handy over the last 1200 m, close-up next.
