Stakes boost
Owners, trainers and horsemen will receive a huge boost in their incomes during the Metropolitan Club’s two-day and twonight Cup carnival at Addington Raceway. The club has increased stakes across the board to a record of about $730,000, a healthy increase over the $518,025 distributed at the corresponding -meeting in 1984.
The club has lifted its own contribution by a substantial amount and there has been a healthy increase in sponsorship. In addition, payments from the stakes subsidy scheme administered by the Racing Authority are higher than in 1984.
