Crystal-poisoning decision

PA Hamilton No Tauhara Primary School pupils would be pro? secuted for last week’s copper ! sulphate crystal lunchtime poisoning, said Senior-Sergeant Jim Stebbings, of Taupo, yesterday. He said the police made

the decision when they finished their inquiry this week.. . The two children who had given schoolmates the lollylike poisonous crystals at lunchtime were too young to take to court and had not known the consequences of

eating them, he said. Thirty-one pupils were taken to Rotorua Hospital on Monday last week after sampling the crystals which a boy had brought to school in a jar. All 31 were back at school this week.
