Reserved judgment
PA Dunedin The publisher of the weekly newspaper, “Truth,” has failed to have struck out the entire statement of claim in a $250,000 libel action being brought against it by the head of the Dunedin C.LB.
However, Mr Justice Cook, who heard the application by News Media Ownership, Ltd, on August 30 in the High Court at Dunedin, ordered in a reserved judgment, that certain parts of the statement of claim be struck out as applied for in the alternative application by the company. The claim relates to an article published by the defendant in “New Zealand Truth” earlier this year.
