Finalists in Music Awards
PA Wellington Finalists in the 21 categories in this year’s New Zealand Music Awards were announced yesterday by the Music Awards Committee. The awards, which have been held each year since the 19605, will feature in a special televised show in the Michael Fowler Centre in Wellington on November 11. Winners in each of the judged categories will be announced at. the show, along with the winner of the “United Song of the Year,” which is determined by public vote.
Finalists in the main categories are: Single of the year.— “For Today,” Netherworld Dancing Toys; “Forever Tuesday Morning,” The Mockers; “Lift Your Head Up High,” Peking Man. Album of the year.— “Genre,” Shona Laing; “Long Ago,” Herbs; “Painted Years,” Netherworld Dancing Toys. Top male vocalist of the year.— Malcolm Black, Netherworld Dancing Toys; Andrew Fagan, The Mockers; Pat Urlich, Peking Man. Top female vocalist of the year.— Jaqui Fitzgerald, Patsy Riggir, Margaret Urlich, Peking Man. Top Group of the year.— Netherworld Dancing Toys, The Mockers, Peking Man.
