Public Notices Z'3'X NEW ZEALAND FOREST SERVICE FIRE PERMITS STATE AREAS SOUTH CANTERBURY DISTRICT IT is wished to remind all adjoining landowners and the public generally that under section 23(a) of the Forest and Rural Fires Act, 1977, a burn permit must be obtained from the New Zealanad Forest Service for all fires within and Including the I.skm fire safety margin of all State Areas. It Is an offence to light a fire In the open In these areas without a written permit. throughout the year. The sighting of any fires within or threatening these areas should be reported to the nearest Forest Headquarters — collect call if necessary. PROPERTY OWNERS WITHIN THE FIRE SAFETY MARGIN OF STATE AREAS PLEASE NOTE: Plan your burning programme early to allow sufficient time for inspection of proposed burn and where necessary, preparation of a burn plan for your guidance. A REMINDER For those areas that are also under South Canterbury Catchment Board or Waltakl Catchment Commission Jurisdiction, Joint permits MUST be obtained.
