Punter overpaid

A punter who was over- w paid a sum in excess of ssoo' ' r at Addington Raceway on -- Wednesday evening has ? been asked to return the “winnings” by Mr Roger . Hardy, the Totalisator« Agency Board’s senior on- •• course totalisator manager. ~ A young man apparently r „ cashed a $1 each way ticket .. on the third-placed horse, Worth Something, at the-u lawn totalisator after the ’■ final event on Wednesday, - but instead of receiving the correct sun of $2.95 was inadvertently paid $509.75. “The operator feels sure »» that he could identify the'” man in question and I urge .. him to return the money,” “ said Mr Hardy yesterday.
“It is an unfortunate _ situation and the operator will be required to repay' 1 the amount himself if it is not returned.”
Mr Hardy emphasised that the T.A.B. would be happy to receive the money ■’ anonymously and no charges would be laid if this .. . was done. ~
“The gentleman can I either return the money to ■? any T.A.B. branch or post it to the Addington Raceway •' offices in Moule Street;’ ~ said Mr Hardy.
