World record for deer?
New Zealand may have topped the world record price for deer at a sale in Christchurch recently When two purebred Canadian bull elk sold for $BO,OOO and $75,000. The executive director of the Deer Farmers’ Association, Mr Mike Pattison, said
that the highest price he had heard of before the sale was $35,000. The $BO,OOO bull elk was sold to Mr Frank White, of Tauranga, and the $75,000 bull to. Mr Peter Crapper, of Motueka. Both deer were raised by Mr John Barber, of Rangiora.
