Mt Everest near
Two New Zealand climbers were yesterday poised to reach the summit of Mount Everest.
Graeme Dingle, of Turangi, and Rob Blackbourne, of Dunedin, are part of a 14member New Zealand expedition attempting to climb the mountain from its northern slopes. Dingle’s wife, Corrina, received a telegram on Friday which said that the pair hoped to reach the summit on October 2.
The.party has divided into small groups, and it is not known whether any of the other climbers have reached the summit.
