Nightclub act
Annette Moorcroft, a country-rock singer who will be performing at Romanovs nightclub, likes to think her act is a little different from others. She spends part of her 20mmute show among the audience trying to get them involved with her songs, sometimes selecting people from the audience to sing to. For the rest of her act she is on stage with the band so that people can get up and dance.
Most of her eight years in show business have been spent singing in cabarets and nightclubs. She has also been on television in “That’s Country,” has sung at some shows, and has been at the Whitecliffs festival for the last three years. She will sing at Romanov’s this evening, Friday, and Saturday. When she returns to Wellington, Miss Moorcroft will sing six nights a week at a nightclub until the end of the year. She hopes to tour the South Island next year and also work in Australia.
_ Because of increasing singing commitments, she is thinking of giving up her day-time job as a secretary.
