Lendl, Becker clash
NZPA-Reuter Prague The United States Open tennis champion, Ivan Lendl, and the Wimbledon title-holder, Boris Becker will clash in Frankfurt next month when Czechoslovakia and West Germany meet in the semi-finals of the Davis Cup. Lendl, the world’s number one, spearheads the
Czechoslovak team which also includes Tomas Smid. Hana Mandlikova, who made it a Czechoslovak double at the United States Open this month, will lead the defence of the Federation Cup women’s trophy in Nagoya, Japan, from October 7 to 13.
