Men on joint murder charge
PA Auckland Two men appeared in different courts yesterday charged with the murder of Gibson Grace. Alaister John Barr, aged 33, now of Paremoremo Prison, was jointly charged with Richard Graham Morgan and William Douglas Oldham with the murder of Grace on or about April 21, 1983. In the District Court, at Henderson, Judge Bradford remanded Barr in custody without plea to appear at Henderson on October 3. A date for a preliminary hearing may then be set. New Plymouth, Richard Graham Morgan, aged 27, an unemployed jeweller, entered no plea to the joint charge. He was remanded in custody to appear in the District Court at New Plymouth on October 3. Oldham appeared in the District Court in Christchurch on Wednesday. In Henderson Barr said yesterday that he had this message for the news media, although he was not ready to enter a plea: “I strenuously deny the charge and I would like them (reporters) to print all the facts and not just half.”
