Triple Veloce destroyed
Special correspondent Cambridge The promising filly, Triple Veloce, has been destroyed despite all efforts to save her. Triple Veloce broke down in her off foreleg in training last Thursday.
Efforts were made to insert screws to join broken segments of bone in the pastern. Her trainer, Brian Cameron, said: “It was in fragments and broke away as soon as she put weight on the leg.” Triple Veloce raced only five times for three wins and a third. She had won the Ra Ora Plate, 1200 m, at Matamata and the Rochdale Handicap, 1150 m, at Te Awamatu in her only two starts this season.
