A building society built for Canterbury by Cantabrians
When the Permanent Investment and Loan Association of Canterbury started up over 100 years ago it financed mainly farms and the farming community. Many years and changes later, the Permanent Investment and Loan Association of Canterbury became the Permanent Investment Building Society of Canterbury, and under the expert management of Mr C. O.
(Ossie) Spiller, continued to grow and expand. Late last year the Permanent Investment Building Society of Canterbury became the U.D.C. Endeavour Building Society, a subsidiary of U.D.C. Group Holdings, Ltd, already a well respected name in finance. And after 38 years service, Mr Ossie Spiller retired to continue his private practice as a Chartered Accoun-
