Search called off
PA Auckland The search for a missing Coromandel yachtsman, Mr Gunter Lechgenberg, has been called off. An R.N.Z.A.F. Orion returned to Whenuapai airbase on Sunday after two days intensive search north
and north-west of Fiji. Mr Lechgenberg’s dismasted 12m yacht Taniwha was found wrecked on a Vanua Levu reef two weeks ago. His log indicated he had abandoned the yacht on August 19.
