Policemen attacked in Square fracas
Two policemen were bruised and scratched and
one had his clothing torn during a fracas outside the Dog House, in Cathedral Square, last evening.
One constable was attacked as he was taking a youth, aged 16, into custody for being under the influence of a drug, said a police spokesman. The second policeman was attacked when he
went to the constable’s assistance.
The incident happened at 7.45 p.m. Three persons were arrested and charged with
assault and obstruction. A woman, aged 20, will appear in the District Court tomorrow and a youth and a girl, both aged 16, will appear in the Children and Young Persons Court next week.
