Murdoch purchase
NZPA-AP Los Angeles
The Australian publisher, Rupert Murdoch, has bought the television production and distribution arm of Metromedia, Inc., which has rights to the popular television series, “Dynasty.”
Three months ago Mr Murdoch, who owns half of 20th Century Fox, bought six television stations from Metromedia. The New York-based Aus-
tralian announced the deal for Metromedia Producers Corporation yesterday. The price was not announced, but Metromedia bought the production unit three years ago for about SUS2O million ($37.4 million). Metromedia Producers makes and distributes television shows and mini-series and has a library of about 3000 hours of television programmes.
