Young man stabbed
PA Auckland Detectives late last evening were seeking a person who stabbed a young man in the back several times at Leigh, near Warkworth, early yesterday. The victim, Mr Richard Mark Burton, aged 22, single, of Orewa, was in a comfortable condition, said an Auckland Hospital spokesman. A police spokesman said Mr Burton was stabbed six or seven times outside a hall where he had been attending a birthday party.
“It was another wanton attack on a citizen which would appear to be without motive,” said the spokesman.
