Man’s body recovered

PA Wanganui The body of a missing man was recovered from the Ahu Ahu Stream north of Wanganui, about 9.30 a.m. on Saturday. He was Ben Evan Nitschke, aged 56, a farmer.

The body of his son, Graeme Ross Nitschke, aged 26, was found last Friday.

Both men fell into the swollen stream last Wednesday when the flying fox they were using to cross the stream collapsed.

Divers found Mr’ Ben Nitschke’s body in a hole near where the flying fox collapsed.
