‘New’ warehouse gives room to grow
The addition of another warehouse, across Falsgrave Street in the former Skate City building, was on the cards before the merger with South Island Screw and Rivet boosted stock. Bulk supplies of fixtures were already blocking the loading bay in the old store and restricting movement, says Mr Garry van der
Krogt, warehouse manager. When Skate City closed the ideal site seemed to be available. The new warehouse will be used for bulk quantities of bolts and nuts, with broken lots kept in the bins and racks across the road. Also planned for the new store are an office and staff training centre. The carpenters are in now.
