NEW ZEALAND/SWITZERLAND TRAINEE EXCHANGE SCHEME IN 1984 the governments of Switzerland and New Zealand approved an exchange scheme to encourage vocational training of Swiss and New Zealand nationals and to promote co-operation in economic, social and cultural fields in our two countries. APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED People between the ages of 18 and 30 with a working knowledge of German, French or Italian who would like to work In Switzerland for up to 18 months to further their training in their particular field of employment, while at the same time familiarising themselves with business, professional and technical practices in Switzerland and improving their lingistic skills are invited to participate in this scheme. Applications may be submitted for any field of employment. Those fields considered most appropriate for trainees going to Switzerland including banking, insurance, the chemical industry, precision engineering and tourism. Some applicants may be able to arrange their own employment in Switzerland. Those who are unable to do so will be assisted by the Federal Office for Industry, Crafts and Labour in Switzerland, although no guarantee can be given that employment will be found. The scheme does not make any contribution towards financial costs incurred by participating trainees. Application forms and further information may be obtained from the Department of Labour (Employment Services Division) Private Bag, Wellington. Completed applications should be received by the Department no later than August 30, 1985.

Ministry of Works W/ and Development STATE HIGHWAY 7 AHAURA RIVER BRIDGE UNDER SECTION 13 of the National Roads Act 1953, the above bridge will be closed to all traffic for repair work for one day per week for a period of three months. Each closure being for a period of up to four hours from 11.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. Next closure - TUESDAY, AUGUST 6, 1985 Succeeding closure days and dates will be advertised in local newspapers and on local radio stations. Alternative routes are available to bypass the Ahaura River Bridge these being at Ikamatua and Stillwater on State Highway 7, via Atarau Road.
