Multiple sclerosis appeal
Sir, — When we heard that a major fund-raising effort of the dimensions of the Live Aid programme was to be screened on the week-end between the Telethon and our house-to-house collection, we were concerned about the success of our collection. In the event, whilst it seems that those two major appeals had some effect, the people of Christchurch and districts responded very generously to us and through your columns we express our thanks to the many individual collectors and organisations, and to the public for their generosity. — Yours etc., BARRY HAWKINS, Director, Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canterbury. July 31, 1985.
