PA Wellington A special one-off grant of $lO,OOO has been given to the Adult Reading and Learning Assistance Federation for 1985-86, said the Minister of Education, Mr Marshall. The new grant was intended to met federation staff travel costs and the mounting of training seminars for area co-ordina-tors, he said. The A.R.L.A., a non-profit-making body, was founded in April, 1982. Its aims are to increase public awareness in the adult literacy field and to foster services for adults experiencing difficulty with reading. There are now more than 120 schemes from Kaitaia to Bluff.
