The day in Parliament

Three reports were tabled when Parliament sat at 2.30 p.m. today. The Minister of Justice, Mr Palmer, tabled the report of the Legal Aid Board on operations of the Legal Aid Act and the report of the Johnsonville Licensing Trust. The bill was given a second reading and the House then adjourned for dinner at 5.30 p.m. When the House resumed at 7.30 p.m., members debated the first report of the Standing Orders Committee on the proposed new standing orders. The debate was interrupted when the House rose at 10.29 p.m. ,
