Attitude to South Africa
Sir,—lt amazes me that Bert Walker keeps up the “everything is fine in South Africa” attitude, no matter how many correspondents contradict him. His seems to be a concrete mind — all mixed up and permanently set. I spent some time in Cape Town, and what I saw there made me feel sick and angry. I noticed in a shop that blacks were not allowed on the premises, but were served through a slide at the back. Mr Walker is trying his darndest to whitewash the South African Government, but unless he changes his stand, I am afraid he will have egg on his face after the blacks have taken control of their own lives and destiny, because undoubtedly a revolution, bloody or otherwise, will take place in South Africa. — Yours, etc., J. P. STUART. July 11, 1985.
