‘Playboy’s’ nudity offer still refused

Victoria Principal has turned down an offer of $lOO,OOO to appear nude in “Playboy” magazine. In 12 months the magazine' increased its offer by $50,000. Lucille Ball has rushed to the side of her ex-husband, Desi Arnaz, who has been grieving since his second wife, Edie, died in March. His two children, Desi jun. and Lucie, have been staying with him. It’s nice to see that the family is pulling together. Rock king Prince is about to open a chain of rock discos right across the United States. Of course they’ll be called Prince. David Soul now has seven sons. The former “Starsky and Hutch” star’s wife, Patti, has just presented him with another baby boy. He is the couple’s third son and they have two sons apiece from previous marriages. Ava Gardner is having mink coats made for her two dogs. They will cost her $lOOO each and, of course, they will match hers which will cost about $189,000.

There is a bizarre plot twist coming up on “Dallas.” J. R., played by Larry Hagman, will be haunted by the ghost of his dead brother, Bobby. Patrick Duffy has now left the show, but the producers think this is the best way to keep the popular Bobby still popping up in the show. By the way, there will be lots of flashbacks from past episodes featuring Bobby. “Dynasty” star, or I should say ex-star, Catherine “Amanda” Oxenberg, has opened a chain of antique shops in England, and hopes to do the same in the United States.

Top American comic Joan Rivers has written a book called “The Life and Hard Times of Heidi Abromowitz.” She says it is based not only on fact, but on rumour, innuendo, and graffiti from telephone booths around the world. It’s a fun book (if not a touch naughty in parts) and it makes good reading, but it is not for the faint hearted. It has just been released in New Zealand. Nude photographs of the late John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono, have been held by a Court in New Orleans since mid-1983. However, they are now to be returned to Ono. The nine slides, 151 prints and negatives have been kept by the Court since a case involving a man who said that he found them in the rubbish. But Ono said that the pictures and negatives were stolen from her New York apartment by one of her many servants. In Britain the High Court has granted actress Lynne Frederick sUSlmillion in her claim that the movie

“The Trail Of The Pink Panther” insulted the memory of her late husband, Peter Sellers. However, the High court refused to stop further showings of the movie. Liza Minnelli has just signed the outrageous rock star, Gene Simmons, from Kiss as her personal manager. Remember, he was having a hot romance with Diana Ross.

Jerry Lewis was honoured at a giant Hollywood party at the Beverly Hills Hotel for raising $3OO million for muscular dystrophy. I was at one of Lewis’s telethons in Los Vegas a few years ago and, believe me, he really works for the cause. Macho Mick Jagger appears in a dress, in fact full drag, in his next music video which runs for 60 minutes. It’s called “Running out of Luck.” Maybe he is if he has to put on a dress these days to attract attention. Abby Dalton, who plays Julia on “Falcon Crest,” was kicked out of the story towards the end of this season in the United States. But as a result of letters from more than 10,000 viewers Julia is back in next season. The Princess of Wales’ favourite television soapie is “Dynasty” and she has asked if she can visit the set when she and Prince Charles are next in tinsel town. Of course the cast and crew are delighted. When Joan Collins was in London recently she met the Princess and they spent quite a bit of time talking about the soapie. And that’s Hollywood for this week!
