Tauranga airport changes

PA Tauranga The Tauranga Airport Authority has approved in principle the reformation of itself as a corporation. The authority was discussing recent proposals by the Minister of Transport, Mr Prebble, for airports to be put on a commercial basis, with local authorities as shareholders and reaping the benefits of any profits. The chairman, Mr Norman McMaster, said, “We intend to make a detailed report covering the airport potential for tourism and commercial operations.” He said that under the new system, the Tauranga.
