Advisory committee on job-changing
An advisory committee to monitor the change from existing employment and training assistance schemes to the new ones announced by the Government comprises eight persons. The new schemes were described in a discussion paper, “Skills for Young People.” The committee is Messrs Ray Fargher, general secretary of the Association of Teachers in Technical Institutes (chairman); Noel Harrison, principal of Northland Community College; Ashley Russ, secretary Of the Carpenters’ Union; Paul Swain, a member of the Employment Network’s national committee ■ and employment pro-
grammes trainer for the national council of Y.M.C.A.S; Ray Taylor, deputy executive director of the Employers’ Federation and deputy chairman of the Vocational Training Council; Mrs Georgina Kirby, president of the Maori Women’s Welfare League; Ms Anne Knowles, legal adviser to the Meat Industry Association; and Ms Karen Roper, Combined State Unions representative on the National Advisory Council on the Employment of Women. The closing date for public submissions on the discussion paper is September 13. The committee’s address is Box 3345, Wellington.
