MAPAPOURI, Phone 609. “The Adventure Seekers of the Southern Fiords” PUBLIC INQUIRY INTO CATHEDRAL SQUARE THE CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL has appointed a Committee of Inquiry into Cathedral Square, with the following terms of reference: 1. To investigate the current situation in Cathedral Square from the point of view of ALL users to establish the main problem areas perceived by users. 2. To consider physical aspects that may reflect on social Issues. 3. To consider ideas of a positive nature that could ameliorate the natural, physical and social environment. 4. That the Committee may broaden its terms of reference if necessary. 5. To make recommendations to the appropriate authorities based on those consultations as to how the use of the Square, as a public amenity, can be improved. The Council invites written submissions from individuals, welfare groups, cultural groups, transport interests, commercial interests and all other parties who wish to offer comment. Written submission should be lodged by Friday, July 26 1985, and should be addressed to: The Secretary, Committee of Inquiry into Cathedral Square, Christchurch City Council, P.O.
