The Department of Town Planning, with a permanent academic staff of 7 and 73 students enrolled, teaches courses for Bachelors and Masters degrees. Candidates can also enrol for the Doctor of Philosophy degree. Regulations have been approved for restructuring the four-year Bachelors degree and a new course will be introduced for the 1986 academic year. The two vacancies are open to applicants who have University degrees or diplomas in urban or regional planning, or some equivalent discipline. The Appointee to the Associ-ate-Professorship is likely to hold an advanced degree. Academic or professional qualifications in some additional specialised field would be advantageous. Applicants should have had experience, either in teaching at tertiary level, in research, or in practical work in a professional or other relevant capacity. Successful applicants will be required to contribute to lectures and studio sessions at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and to undertake research. Salaries will be established within the appropriate scale for lecturers $NZ23,622-$27,928, and Associate Professors $NZ40,995.
