Convenient shopping at new site of Colour Market
Paint is heavy stuff. Anyone who has ever tried to carry a 10-litre can of paint even a short distance will bear witness to the fact. One of the features of the New Color Market shop which opens tomorrow at 314 Manchester Street will be the good parking facilities at front and back of the premises. This means that customers will not have to carry any heavy purchases more than a few metres, which is a considerable saving in energy, not to mention avoiding the possibility of pulling a muscle. And there is no worry about parking meters, either. The building, which is opposite St Mary’s Catholic
Church and the McLean Mansion, has eight parking spaces out front and about 24 at the back. Big windows along the front and side of the building also provide opportunity to window shop, or choose products. Color Market has moved from its original premises at 29 Walker Street, between Durham and Montreal Streets.
The new site is bigger, has better parking facilities, and has a feeling of space and light. The old site was one of the oldest paint and wallpaper outlets in Christchurch. The move to the new premises will make Color Market more accessible to customers, provide a
greater range of products and give do-it-yourselfers a place where they can select a wide variety of materials. Although Color Market has moved to a new site, the old qualities that set the company apart — wide experience and knowledge in the areas of renovation materials — will still be there.
The company is one of the oldest in New Zealand. It was founded by Mr Andrew Lees in Dunedin in 1859. The company has been associated with paint and wallpaper since then. If you are considering any renovations to your home, now is the time to do it. Color market has a number of specials which will save you money and time.
