Child caught in spokes
Christchurch firemen were called yesterday to free a frightened child whose leg was caught in the spokes of a bicycle. The incident happened in Monteath Place, Redwood, at 12.25 p.m., said a Fire Service spokesman. The child was not injured. Further details were not avail-
able. In another unusual rescue, firemen went to Broad Park, in North New Brighton, about noon to free a girl trapped in a swing. She was said to be frightened, but was not hurt. It is not known how the girl became trapped.
