Aircraft noise
Sir, — In reply to K. P. Taylor’s letter of July 4, I live near the Wigram base and have done so for all my 20 years of life. Why should “more people complain if they are sick and tired of loud engine noise ...?” Wigram has been there far longer than many of the residents, and can the young pilots be expected to fly at night over Lake Ellesmere, when they are only just coming to grips with their aircraft, the Air Force and the circuit at night? With reference to the gliding, perhaps those complaining should give it a try first before making a comment. — Yours, etc., L. J. NEWCOMBE. July 4, 1985.
