C.M.S. changes at top

Mr Rex Brown has been appointed managing director of Columbus Maritime Services, Ltd, the New Zealand agent for the Columbus Line. Mr Richard Turner has been appointed general manager. Mr Brown succeeds Captain R. A. Snushall, who is retiring after 25 years with the company. Captain Snushall will continue as a member of the C.M.S. board.

Mr Brown joined the company in 1963 as an accountantsecretary and was appointed general manager in 1976. Mr Turner joined C.M.S. in 1971. He became the company’s New Zealand marketing manager in 1976, and was made assistant general manager four years ago. The Columbus Line pioneered container shipping in New Zealand, and now runs container services to the west and east coasts of North America, the United States Gulf ports, the West Indies, and Europe.
