Japanese gold for art
Two Hillmorton High School pupils, Benjamin Thompson and Annette Barrett, both aged 13, display the gold medals and certificates they received for their art entries in an international children’s art exhibition in Japan. More than 40,000 children in 92 countries were involved in the third Kanagawa Biennial World Children’s Art Exhibition. Annette and Benjamin, who were at Manning Intermediate School when they entered the exhibition, received their prizes in the mail last week. Benjamin’s picture depicted a Japanese tourist and Annette painted a New Zealand girl. Both pictures are still on show in Japan.
