Police recover stolen jewellery

PA Auckland Jewellery stolen from “Miss New Zealand,” Sheri Le Fleming Burrow, has been recovered, along with morphine, in a police raid. The police said that a man' sitting in a rental car in Wyndham Street, Auck-

land, last evening was being questioned when the police found him carrying a small bottle of liquid, home-bake morphine. A further search of the car revealed burglary equipment and jewellery stolen from “Miss New Zealand” this week. The police said the items included watches, rings, gold and silver chains, pearls, and silver coins. It was not clear how much of the recovered jewellery belonged to the Burrow family and how much may have come from other sources. The police could not say how many items stolen from “Miss New Zealand’s” home remain unrecovered. They said the man in the car and another man who returned to it while the police were present, were arrested.
