Fletcher to buy Bishman
PA Wellington Fletcher Construction Company, Ltd, has received Commerce Commission approval to purchase Bishman Electrical, Ltd. Bishman is a private electrical contracting company operating in Auckland, Wellington and Papua New Guinea. The announcement was made in a statement by Mr J. G. Smith, chief executive of Fletcher Challenge’s construction sector, and Mr J. Caldwell, managing director of Bishman Electrical, Ltd. They said all staff would be asked to remain with the company, which would continue to be managed by Mr Caldwell. Mr Smith said the acquisition of Bishman was in line with Fletcher Challenge’s policy of strengthening mainstream activities.
