Silver denial
The billionaire Hunt brothers of Texas have denied charges that they participated in a complex scheme to manipulate the silver futures market in 1979 and 1980 by hoarding millions of ounces of silver bullion. The denial by Nelson Bunker Hunt and his brother, William Herbert, was made in a formal response to a civil complaint filed on February 28 by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, which monitors futures trading in the United States. The complaint stemmed from a four-year investigation into the rise and fall of silver prices in 1979 and 1980. -Washington.
