Trainer fined
PA Auckland Mac Phillips, the ownertrainer of Mac’s Gun, was fined $5O at Avondale on Saturday for failing to have the horse on the course in time for the Second Coral Route Maiden. Mac’s Gun was scratched by the judicial committee when, after several calls, he wasnot presented in the birdcage. Mr Phillips, who was ordered to pay a riding fee to Dan South worth, told the. committee he had been held' up in heavy traffic. John Hayes and Des Sax- •»
ton, an apprentice, were suspended up to and including Wednesday after being found guilty of careless riding. In both cases their mounts were relegated from first to second. Hayes, on Legionary in the Perth Intermediate, allowed his mount to shift inwards in the final stages and affect the chances of Kaingaroa. Saxton permitted his mount, Aplari, to shift outwards and impede Sequoia Boy in the last 100 metres of the Second Coral Route Maiden.
