The successful applicant will be responsible to the Head of the Mechanical Design Section, and will assist in the programme’ management of the Mechanical Engineering Group. The duties will include: - Operation and development of the extensive mechanical testing facilities. - Providing efficient testing services to clients outside the laboratory. - Participation in internal research and development of programmes. - Personal participation in the practical work of the section. - Supervision of a team currently consisting of four technical officers. Qualifications: A good degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is essential. Substantial experience relevant to Mechanical Testing is desirable. Salary dependent upon qualifications and experience.
