Rhododendrons are amongst the most beautiful and easiest grown of our flowering shrubs. They require rich well drained peaty soil, plus shelter from strong winds and harsh sunlight. Remember the larger the leaves the more shade required. The ideal situation is dappled shade and filtered sunlight from light foliaged deciduous trees. Mulch with leaf mould or peat and never allow to dry out.
