Harbour Board report glossy

The Lyttelton Harbour Board has just released a glossy, eight-page fold-out version of its 1984 annual report. The report includes statistics on the port's trade that were released at the board’s December meeting last year. It includes sections on bulk trade of barley, coal, L.P.G. and petroleum products, as well as container trade, coastal roll-on trade and port development. A statement by the board’s chairman, Mr G. E. Wright, says that port trade increased 34 per cent in the year ending September 30. This was because of increased economic activity in the Pacific basin, a renewed sea link to Wellington by the Spirit of Free Enterprise, and efficient marketing and management by board staff.

The report also notes that the board’s new centralised administration building in Lyttelton should be ready to occupy by mid-1986.

The board's senior assistant engineer, Mr Mike Stokes, said the glossy version of the report, illustrated with photo-

graphs of the port, would be used as a promotional folder for prospective clients. ARRIVALS Australian Trader (6 a.m.). 7218, Wellington (S.C.N.Z.). Union Dunedin (7 a.m.), 9330, Nelson (U.M.S.).
