A.I.D.S. head to resign
PA Auckland The co-ordinator of the A.I.D.S. Support Network, Mr Bruce Burnett, will resign tomorrow because of deteriorating health, said an official of the organisation yesterday. The chairman of the network trust board, Ms Kate Leslie, said Mr Burnett’s condition had worsened and he could no longer continue in his role. “He has been diagnosed as having A.I.D.S. proper, manifested as a widespread cancer,” she said. “He will now devote what time remains to ensuring that the organisation which he founded is well equipped to inform New Zealand of the A.I.D.S. situation in a clear, unemotional manner. “We will continue the work he began over a year ago as an information, counselling, and resource network for A.I.D.S. in New Zeraland.” She said Mr Burnett was not in hospital.
