NOTICE OF ESTIMATES AND INTENTION TO MAKE AND LEVY RATES PURSUANT TO THE provisions of the Rating Act 1567 and subsequent amendments and trie Local Government Act 1974, and subsequent amend’ inents, public notice is hereby given that the Waimairi District Council has prepared and approved annual estimates of receipts and payments for the period commencing the First Day of April 1985 and ending on the Thirty-first Day of March 1986: The estimates are available for public inspection during ordinary office hours at the District Office, corner Jeffreys and Clyde Roads, Fendalton. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE RATES It is hereby further publicly notified, that it is the intention of the Waimairi District Council at an Ordinary Meeting of the Waimairi District Council, to be held at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, the 19th day of June 1985, in the Council Chambers, corner Jeffreys and Clyde Roads, Fendalton, to make a Uniform Annual Fee and levy the undermentioned Rates and Charges on the Rateable Capital Value of all rateable properties appearing in the Valuation Rolls now in force in the District of Waimairi for the period commenced the First Day of April 1985 and ending on the Thirty-first Day of March 1986. (1) GENERAL RATES including levies for Canterbury Museum, Canterbury United Council, Christchurch Town Hall and Riccarton Bush Trustees on the Rateable Capital Value of all rateable properties in the several Ridings of the District as follows: Avonhead Riding .66639 cents in the $ Belfast Riding .77411 cents in the $ Fendalton Riding .68646 cents in the $ Papanui Riding .77880 cents in the $ Styx Riding .77506 cents in the $ Wairakei Riding .75277 cents in the $ The above Rates will be made under the provisions of Section 137 of the "Local Government Act 1974,” the “Rating Act 1967” and any amendments thereto. , „ , (2) WATER RATES AND CHARGES under the provisions of Sections 143, 158, 159 and 166 of the “Local Government Act 1974” and the “Rating Act 1967” and any amendments thereto as follows: (a) On every separately rateable property to which water is supplied from the Water Supply System, a Rate of: .16270 cents (c) in the dollar ($) on the basis of Capital Rateable Value provided that if that rate would produce less than Ten Dollars ($10) in respect of any separately rateable property to which water is supplied, a Rate of Ten Dollars ($10) be made and levied. <b) On every separately rateable property to which water can be, but is not supplied, situated within one hundred metres from any part of the water works, a Rate not exceeding half of the Rate mentioned in paragraph (a) above. (c) Kainga Water Supply .08135 cents (c) in the dollar ($) on the basis of Capital Rateable Value provided that if that rate would produce less than Five Dollars ($5) in respect of any such separately raeable property to which water is supplied, a Rate of Five Dollars ($5) be made and levied. id) Extraordinary Supply - Per Meter Residential, Commercial, Industrial, etc.: Fourteen point two cents (14.2 c per cubic metre or sixty-four point seven cents (64.7 c per one thousand gallons for properties supplied from the water supply system. Non rateable Properties and Properties not paying Water Rate on Rate four cents (16.4 c per cubic metre or seventy four point one cents (74.1 c per one thousand gallons for properties supplied from the water supply system. Minimum Annual Charge - Non Rateable Properties: Ten Dollars ($10). (e) Builders’ Water Supply The following water charges shall be made: (1) Where the value of the proposed building as shown on the building permit application: (a) Does not exceed $6OOO — $l. (b) For each complete additional $lOOO an additional 25 cents. (2) A water meter shall be installed at the applicant’s cost on nonrateable and other properties as determined by the District Engineer Where a meter is installed, an initial allocation will be calculated by apportioning the fees payable under Clause 1 above, by the following formulae: „ „ t Rateable Properties - 14.2 cents per cubic metre or 64.7 cents each 1000 gallons. Non-rateable Properties - 16.4 cents per cubic metre or 74.1 cents each 1000 gallons. j r Water used in excess of the initial allocation provided for under the above fomulae will be charged at the same rates of 14.2 and 16.4 cents each cubic metre, or 64.7 and 74.1 cents each 1000 gallons. (3) It is hereby further publicly notified that it is the intention of the Waimairi District Council at an Ordinary Meeting to be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday the 19th day of June, 1985, in the Council Chambers, Corner Jeffreys and Clyde Roads, Fendalton, to make and levy: Uniform Annual Fee at $lll per container will be made and levied for those properties within the District where a night soil collection service is given, provided that where any property requires the servicing of more than one container per week, such additional service shall be arranged through ThTsaid Uniform Annual Fee will be made under the provisions of Section 163 of the ‘Local Government Act 1974’ and will be levied for the period commenced the First Day of April 1985, ending on the Thirty-first Day of March 1986. (4) Other Authorities Rates: The Council will collect such rates as are made by Special Order by the following Authorities: Christchurch Drainage Board - at its meeting to be held on May 29,198 b. Christchurch Transport Board - at its meeting to be held on June 28,1985. North Canterbury Catchment Board — at its meeting held on May 17,1985. (5) Minimum Total Rates: Minimum total rates payable in all cases shall be $5. (6) Rates by Instalments , , r „ * It is hereby further publicly notified that the before mentioned Rates, Charges and Uniform Annual Fee and the rates levied by other Authorities and collected by the Council for the 1985/86 Rating Year, shall be due and payable by instalments which shall be subject to an additional charge of ten per cent (10 p.c.) to be added to any unpaid portion of each such instalment, on the dates specified in the Special Order passed by the Council at its meeting held on November 15, 1973 and confirmed at its meeting held on December 13, 1973, such dates being as specified below, namely: Instalment Date Due and Date of 10 p.c. No.: Payable Additional Charge: 1’ April 16. 1985 June 1, 1985 2 July 16, 1985 September 1, 1985 3 October 16, 1985 December 1, 1985 4 January 16, 1986 March 1, 1986 The instalments for the Rating Year commencing on the First Day of April 1985 and ending on the Thirty-first Day of March 1986, shall be due and payable on dates set out above, together with the date an additional charge o. ten per centum (10 p.c.) shall be added to any unpaid portion of each instalment, provided that any occupier within the meaning of the said Act who pays the full year’s assessment before the ten per centum (10 p.c.) additional charge is due to be added on the second instalment, namely Ist day of September 1985, shall have the ten per centum (10 p.c.) additional charge on the first instalment remitted, if the same has been charged. NOTE Any ratepayer desirous of paying his rates for the 1985/36 rating year in one payment may do so without incurring the 10 p.c. additional charge on the unpaid first instalment, provided the amount of the rates for the full year is paid not later than August 31, 1985. The before mentioned Rates, Charges and Uniform Annua! Fee shall be payable as above, at the Office of the Waimairi District Council, Corner Jeffreys and Clyde Roads, Fendalton, Christchurch. Total net capital rateable value $1,056,201,515. The Valuation Rolls and Rate Books containing particulars of all the above Rates and the Uniform Annual Fee, are open for inspection without fee by all ratepayers during office hours which are from 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
