Underwater teams to play 5 tests
PA Wellington The New Zealand men’s and women's underwater hockey teams will play five tests against Australia in Canberra from June 6 to 9. The teams, which have been in training since last December, leave this week. Australia has won every series since 1981, except for the New Zealand women’s triumph two years ago. New Zealand lost narrowly to Australia at the w’orld games in Chicago last year.
The Kiwi women are ranked second in the world. The teams are:— Men: Tim Alexander, lain Brown. Craig Elliott, Simon Lockwood, Bevan White, Greg Cook, Malcolm Bird, Steve Stoke, John Swaysland, Neil Godfrey, Peter Fitchett. Coach: Jeff Jewell. Women: Jane Baker, Sue Lesley. Christine Berg, Marlene Jacobsen. Anita O'Neill, Barbara King, Sue McKenzie, Michelle Fahey, Linda Luckman. Coach: Bob Rosemergery.
