Bodies recovered
NZPA-Reuter San Roque Rescue workers have recovered 20 bodies and sighted two more inside the hulls of two oil tankers destroyed by an explosion on Monday killing at least 33 people, officials said yesterday.
A Government spokesman said frogmen had not yet been able to get inside the wrecks because of intense heat but expected to find the remains of the 11 other missing people inside. The two ships lie partly submerged in the shallow bay of Algeciras. Firemen poured anti-pol-lutants on oil seeping from the ships and cooled the hulls with water to allow frogmen to enter and search for victims.
King Juan Carlos, who flew to nearby La Linea to visit the 36 people injured in the blast, had to mime to communicate with several who only spoke Korean, Japanese or broken English.
