Crepes stall for Mall

The City Mall will soon have a resident crepes stall if the Christchurch City Council heeds the recommendation of its community services and health committee.

Miss Jeanette Bent’s application to run a crepes stall in the City Mall was approved by the committee yesterday.

The stall would be a mobile unit to make and sell crepes. It would be sited either near the Stewart Fountain or near Shades Arcade. There had been some concern about odour and waste from the stall but a fourmonth trial period should iron out any problems, Cr Noala Massey said.

The site rental would be about $350, which was the monthly rental for the fruit stall.

The committee approved the application subject to the site’s being kept tidy and additional rubbish containers being supplied. The permit would be for three years, and a rental would be negotiated.
