Couple killed by car
An elderly couple were killed on Saturday after they were struck by a car on Ferry Road outside St Anne’s Catholic Church. They were James Alfred Lanyon, aged 72, and Rita Jessica Lanyon, aged 69, both of 2/150 Aidwins Road, Linwood. The accident happened about 7.25 p.m. It is thought the two pedestrians had just come from a service at the church.
