Maximum points to Linwood side

A perfect score of 20 on Saturday has given Linwood a share of the lead, with University, in “The Press” Centennial Cup competition for the best and fairest senior rugby side. Linwood was one of five teams which could not be faulted on its sportsmanship, but it was the only one to pick up the full eight points for how well it played. Burnside lost the chance to take an outright lead when one of its forwards, Mason Dalzell, was sent to the sin bin for over-vigorous play. This marred an otherwise outstanding game by Dalzell. The binning cost Burnside an automatic three points, but it is still only one point behind the joint leaders, as also is Belfast.
